Nationally Televised Program Features AAA Ambulance Service & Southeast Mississippi Air Ambulance District
Hattiesburg, MS - November 15, 2002 - The PAX-TV network program “It’s a Miracle” will feature details of an emergency response by AAA Ambulance Service (AAA) and Southeast Mississippi Air Ambulance District (SEMAAD). The program will air on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 7:00 pm. The program involves an ambulance call that occurred in November 2001 in Beaumont, MS.
Wade N. Spruill, Jr., CEO of both AAA and SEMAAD, stated, “coverage will review the response made by the staff of AAA to a 911 call received November 2001. A man was pinned underneath a platform elevator in his hardware store, and his young nephew – alone with his uncle in the store – called 911. Our dispatch and response staff did an excellent job with this emergency. All 911 calls are challenges, but particularly when it involves calls made by children. In this case, the young man was very bright and did an excellent job taking directions during our response.” Spruill said that the program will also feature a re-enactment of the entire emergency. Highlights of this program include the response, transportation, treatment, and interviews with AAA staff, as well as the actual audio-recorded 911 call.
Spruill continued, “This program is a touching reminder of many emergencies that occur daily. In this case, the outcome is positive due to the outstanding courage of the young boy involved and the professionalism of the law enforcement, rescue, dispatch, medical, and transport personnel.”
