Southeast Mississippi Trauma Care Region became Mississippi’s first officially designated region through the Mississippi State Department of Health in 2000.
The Region comprises 13 counties: Covington, Forrest, Greene, Jasper, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lamar, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Stone, Walthall, and Wayne.
AAA Ambulance manages the Southeast Trauma Care Region, which claims participating hospitals at Levels 2, 3, and 4 assuring a broad scope of trauma care to the people of Southeast Mississippi. AAA Ambulance plans and coordinates hospital medical staff, pre-hospital services, and first responder training.
As for both ground and air EMS, the Trauma Region also provides patient information for assimilation into a single database. This positions AAA Ambulance as the focal point for all statistics related to trauma patients. Analysis of such information can lead to strengthened system-wide patient care, business management, and use of economic and human resources.
